Dane Mary Lou Schmitt 2022 Mary Lou Schmitt, age 80, passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family on April 3, 2022. She was born Sept. 3, 1941 to the late Reginald and Mareta (Swanson) McIntyre. She was united in marriage to Eloi C. Schmitt on October 6, 1959 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lodi; he preceded her in death on January 30, 2018. She immediately took the role of farm wife in her own way. Mary Lou was the official farm chauffer; whether getting parts, delivering meals or following a tractor at midnight she was there for her family and would always make sure there was room for another at the dinner table. Merten Conrad Breunig, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021. He was second of nine children born to Sylvian and Lillian (Nolden) Breunig on March 29, 1934 at the home farm in Roxbury, WI. Merten married Bernice (Laufenberg) on August 16, 1956 and with the help of Sylvian, he purchased a farm on Bitney Road where he resided until he moved into Maplewood of Sauk Prairie in September of 2020. Merten was lucky enough to find a second love, Barbara A.(Geiser) Gabelt from Cross Plains, WI and proudly told his daughter after meeting Barb that "he won the First Prize at the Pine Bluff Church picnic". Caldwell, 66, passed away at his home in Merrimac, Wisconsin on Sunday, January 10, 2021 after a long struggle with heart and kidney conditions. He was born on February 19, 1954 and grew up in Oregon, Wisconsin, the fourth son of David and Arlene Caldwell. He graduated from Oregon High School in 1972. In 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in what was then West Germany. He married Susan Weber on June 20, 1975 in Madison, Wisconsin. Zaby, age 78, passed away and God wrapped his arms around her on 12/5/2020 at Our House Assisted Living, Baraboo. She was born in Greensboro, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1942 the daughter of the late Steve and Elizabeth (Deak) Zaby. Dee had a strong faith in God, rarely missing Sunday Mass or any other church activity.
